About Me

About Annie (she/her/hers)

I am committed to providing person-centered therapy to help clients improve their insight, self-esteem, relationships, and coping skills. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and strengths-based techniques, but believe that each person brings something unique to therapy and should have individually-tailored treatment goals.  I am especially passionate about working with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, other anxiety disorders, and traumatic stress including childhood trauma and PTSD. I proudly identify as a professional ally to the body positive, LGBTQ+, and sex positive communities. I have experience working with non-traditional relationships including polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, and power dynamics.

I have been practicing as a therapist for over 12 years. I received my BA in Psychology from American University and my Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. During this time, I held internships at Pittsburgh Action Against Rape, AIDS Partnership Michigan in Detroit, and American Indian Health and Family Services in Dearborn, MI. I then worked as an Infant Mental Health therapist in the Detroit Metro area for three years, with focus on strengthening parent-child relationships and attachment, including specific formal training and supervision in attachment-focused therapy.  I have additional formal training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including Exposure & Response Prevention for OCD, as well as Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and EMDR. I moved to Columbus in 2017 and have been working in private practice since 2018.
